The Relationship of Engaged Couples After the Contract

Question
Engaged couples engage in some actions similar to those of married couples, but without sexual intercourse and without the knowledge of their families. What is the ruling in Islamic law regarding this, and is it considered betrayal by the girl to her family, especially since they do this due to the spread of temptations and their inability to marry due to circumstances?
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: The original state after the marriage contract is that you have become spouses, and what is permissible for spouses is permissible for you. However, these actions, even if they do not reach intercourse, may lead to it. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the common understanding that people do not recognize the existence of intercourse between spouses. If something happens in the future that could affect the girl's reputation, and people know that she has not been consummated, then the opposite may be revealed. It is important not to delay the consummation and the wedding for the sake of empty appearances that have no relation to religion, and it is advisable to hasten the wedding. And God knows best.
