Question
Two sisters each gave birth to a daughter, and each sister nursed the other's daughter. One of the daughters had her uncle request her nursing sister for marriage. What is the ruling?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The uncle of one daughter by lineage is the uncle of the other by breastfeeding, and thus it is not permissible for him to marry her; because he is her uncle by breastfeeding; since whenever the mother breastfeeds, motherhood by breastfeeding is established and unclehood by breastfeeding is established, and God knows best.
