The Preference Between Praying Alone and in Congregation and Honoring Parents
Which is preferable, praying on time alone or praying in congregation late? And which is better, honoring parents, praying in congregation, or praying on time?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Praying in congregation is better than praying alone, and being dutiful to one's parents takes precedence over congregational prayer, as long as being dutiful does not lead to missing the prayer at its appointed time, such that the prayer is performed outside of its time and becomes a missed prayer (Qada). This is forbidden, and God knows best.
