The Prayer of One Unable to Prostrate
A sick man who can stand and bow but cannot prostrate, what is better for him: to sit from the beginning of the prayer and gesture for bowing and prostration, or to stand and bow as usual and when prostrating, to prostrate on a chair?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: he prays sitting and gesturing; because it resembles prostration, and if he prays standing and gesturing, it is permissible, and God knows best.
