The Position of the Worshipper's Sitting in the Tashahhud
Is it permissible to place the right foot over the left or the left over the right when rising from prostration and sitting to read the Tashahhud?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Such a posture is disliked. A woman should sit in the position of 'Tawarruk' where her hips are on the ground during the Tashahhud, with her right leg upright and her left leg extended out from underneath it. A man should sit in the position of 'Iftirash' by sitting on his left leg and keeping his right leg upright. And God knows best.
