The Poor Person's Snapshot
A sister found a small amount of money in the public street, and she needs this money. Is it permissible for her to spend it on her children as charity on behalf of the person who lost it, or must she give it as charity?
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: If a period passes sufficient for her to sing about it, such that she believes her owner will not return, it is permissible for her to give it as charity to herself and her children, and God knows best.
