The Place of the Opening Supplication and Seeking Refuge and Their Rulings
Is it obligatory to recite the opening supplication and seeking refuge in obligatory and voluntary prayers, or only in obligatory ones? And if the worshiper forgets to recite them, what is the ruling?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is recommended to recite the opening supplication in obligatory and voluntary prayers, and if one forgets to recite it, nothing is required; because it is a Sunnah, and God knows best.
