The Place of Intention and the Opening Supplication
Is the opening supplication and the intention to start the prayer in the obligatory (prayer) or in the Sunnah? And should the intention be made secretly or aloud?

I say, and with God's help: The intention for prayer precedes it, and it is a condition in both obligatory and voluntary prayers. It is recommended to be made aloud, and the opening supplication is a Sunnah in both obligatory and voluntary prayers. And God knows best.
