Question
Is it permissible for a pilgrim to shave his hair and the hair of others?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is forbidden for the one in a state of ihram to shave his head or the head of another, as well as to shorten it, whether that other person is lawful or unlawful. This applies before he is allowed to exit the state of ihram. However, once he has completed the actions of Umrah, he may exit the state of ihram, and it is permissible for him to shave for himself and for others. But if he shaves for another before he himself has exited his ihram, it is contrary to what is preferable. And God knows best.
