The Permissibility of Tayammum for a Captive
Is it permissible for someone who is a captive among the disbelievers and is prevented from performing ablution to perform tayammum for prayer?
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: It is permissible for him to perform tayammum, but he should repeat the prayer if the impediment is removed. See: رد المحتار 1: 106, and شرح الوقاية p. 113 from الذخيرة البرهانية q. 7/a, and God knows best.
