I say, and with God's success: It is not obligatory for the son to give Zakat al-Fitr for his parents even if they are dependent on him and are poor; because the reason for the obligation to perform Zakat al-Fitr for others is that there is a person who is required to support and has full guardianship over them. Although he is obligated to provide for his parents, he does not have full guardianship over them. Thus, one part of the reason is absent, and it is not obligatory.
