If a man with three wives says: 'It is forbidden or divorce if you enter my house,' and she enters that house, does the divorce take effect, and if it does, does it apply to all three of his wives or just one?
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: A divorce that is conditional on a stipulation occurs upon the fulfillment of that stipulation, as in this case, and it is upon the husband to intend which of his wives it concerns. However, it is specifically the husband who should consult a mufti on the matter to inquire directly so that he can fully understand the issue, and God knows best.
