Question
If I swear and threaten my children and follow my oath with 'God willing' or 'if God wills,' does that mean I am not required to atone for the oath?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If you add to your oath the phrase: "If God wills," directly without separation, it is not considered an oath; because it nullifies it, as we do not know God's will, and thus the statement is canceled. However, it is preferable for a person not to swear, and God knows best.
