The Necessity of the Prohibited

Question
A matter presented in the lesson for discussion: A man in a state of ihram has nothing to eat except for the flesh of carrion or game meat. What should he eat?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is permissible to eat the meat of game because it is lawful. If it is not available, it is permissible to eat carrion out of necessity, to the extent of one's need. And God knows best.
