The Necessity of the Marital Home for the Waiting Period After the Husband's Death
What is the ruling on the waiting period of a woman whose husband has died, and is it required for her to observe it in the marital home? Is it permissible for her to be in her son's house, for example?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: The original ruling is that the waiting period should be observed in the marital home, unless she fears for her safety, in which case she does not feel secure, or fears temptation; then it is permissible for her to move. And God knows best.
