I am a woman whose husband recently passed away, living in Jordan. My daughter is studying medicine in America and has a daughter. She is studying and working at the same time, and her studies are very difficult. Is it permissible for me to travel to her to take care of her child, even though I have other children, but my daughter needs me very much?

Answer

I say, and with God's help: It is not permissible for you to travel if your waiting period has not ended. If it has ended and you see that it is in the best interest for you and your daughter to travel, then it is permissible to travel to her if safety is assured for you. And God knows best.
