The Moral Inability to Use Water
My brother's wife underwent in vitro fertilization, and the doctor transferred the embryos last Saturday. He told her not to bathe so that the embryo would settle, and she is currently praying without bathing. Does she have to repeat her fasting and prayers?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: She is not required to perform ghusl due to not being in a state of postpartum bleeding, menstruation, or major impurity. If she is in a state of major impurity, she can perform tayammum if taking a ghusl would harm her. If she prays without tayammum or ghusl, she must make up the prayer, and God knows best.
