The Intention of Charity for Others
If I sponsor an orphan with my own zakat money, is it permissible to intend this sponsorship or zakat for the soul of my father, for example?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: The charity can be intended for anyone you wish, but the zakat must be clear as zakat for yourself only, and God knows best.
