The Hanafi Imamate for the Shafi'is
I adhere to the Hanafi school and sometimes pray as an imam in a mosque that follows the Shafi'i school. Is it permissible for me to make qunut in the Fajr prayer?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: Teach people that it has been reported in the Sunnah that there is no Qunoot in Fajr, and do not perform Qunoot; unless your not performing Qunoot causes fitnah, and God knows best.
