The gold that a woman gives to her husband after marriage

Question
After marriage, a husband usually needs the gold that his wife gave him as a dowry, and she gifts it to him, but after a while, she asks for it back. Is her gift to him valid?
Answer

I say, and with God's help: her gift to her husband in this case is not valid; rather, it is a loan only, as evidenced by the fact that she asks for it back at the first sign of disagreement between them. Therefore, her giving him the gold out of shyness and to please him and out of fear of his anger was not a valid gift. The husband must return it to her. This is supported by what Qadi Khan said: A man married a woman, then the woman came according to the custom of the Turkmen, and everyone said, 'Gift your dowry to your husband before consummation.' She said, 'I gifted my husband,' and he gave her compensation for her dowry. Then after a year or two, she said, 'I did not gift the dowry.' Is the gift valid with these witnesses or not? The answer: The gift is valid and the testimony is valid if the gift was given willingly; if it was out of fear of people or shyness, it is not valid. And God knows best.
