The Girl's Work Without Her Father's Permission
Is it permissible for me to work without my father's knowledge, knowing that I am an unmarried girl and a foreign student, and my father rejects the idea of work on the grounds of studying? I want to work to occupy my free time; because in my free time, I might fall into sins, and I want to have my own spending money, knowing that my father does not fall short in that?
Answer
I say, and may Allah grant success: If you occupied yourself with good deeds, good companionship, calling to the religion, and helping Muslims, as long as you do not need the money, it would be better for you. It is a way to develop yourself and bring you closer to your Lord and to obey your father, and to stay away from the temptation that working for money might cause you. Allah knows best.
