The Found Item Outside the Sanctuary
A person found a lost item outside the sanctuary and does not want to identify it. Should he keep it for himself, give it as charity on behalf of its owner, or leave it where it is?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It must be defined if one wants to take it; otherwise, it should be left. Then after taking it and defining it, one can give it as charity on behalf of its owner to the poor, even to oneself or one's children, and God knows best.
