Question
If a person wants to donate good deeds to the deceased, should the formula of the donation first be directed to the Prophet, then to the deceased, and then to all deceased Muslims? Is there a specific formula, and if a person forgets this formula, will they be held accountable for it?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: There is no specific formula for dedicating rewards to the deceased, and it is not a condition to mention the Prophet, peace be upon him, before it. Rather, the matter revolves around the preference of seeking blessings from the Prophet, and God knows best.
