The Field of Sectarianism
Is it permissible for a Muslim not to follow any of the four schools of thought? And is it permissible not to know which school of thought one belongs to?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The common Muslim follows the opinion of his mufti, but it is not permissible for the mufti to be without a school of thought, and God knows best.
