The Extent of the Deceased's Awareness of the Living's Visit

Question
When visiting the grave, does the deceased know that their family has visited them? What benefit does the deceased gain from their family's visit? Is it possible to plant a tree, make supplications, or recite the Quran?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It appears that the deceased feels the visit of their family, and the deceased benefits from their recitation of the Quran, their prayers, their seeking forgiveness, and their glorification, as it reaches them and they benefit from it, and God knows best. The questioner wants the evidence for this fatwa from the Quran and the Sunnah, and from the proofs: 1. From the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): "There is no one who passes by the grave of his believing brother whom he recognized in the world and greets him, except that he recognizes him and returns the greeting." Narrated by Ibn Abd al-Barr in "Al-Istidhkar" (1/185). He said: Abu Abdullah Ubaid bin Muhammad informed us, I read to him in the year 390 in the month of Rabi' al-Awwal, he said: Fatimah bint al-Rayan dictated to us in her house in Egypt in the month of Shawwal in the year 342, she said: Al-Rabi' bin Sulayman the muezzin, the companion of Al-Shafi'i, told us, he said: Bishr bin Bakir narrated to us, from Al-Awza'i, from Ata, from Ubaid bin Umair, from Ibn Abbas, with this. 2. What has been established in the two Sahihs that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said about the deceased: "He hears the sound of their sandals when they depart." 3. The hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him) addressing the slain of Badr from the polytheists after leaving them for three days: "O Abu Jahl bin Hisham, O Umayyah bin Khalaf," and Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) heard that and said: "O Messenger of Allah! How can they hear and how can they respond, while they are decayed?" He said: "By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, you are not more able to hear what I say than they are, but they cannot respond." Then he ordered them to be dragged and thrown into the well of Badr. Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim. 4. What has been established in the two Sahihs from various chains that he (peace be upon him) used to command to greet the people of the graves, saying: "Say, peace be upon you, O dwellers of the abode of the believers, and we, if God wills, will join you." The hadith, and God knows best.
