Question
Are the letters of the Quran indicative of God's speech, and are they not the essence of the internal speech itself? That is, did God create letters that indicate His eternal speech?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The speech of God Almighty is His attribute that exists with Him, and the attribute of God does not exist without Him. Thus, the speech of God Almighty does not exist in paper and ink; the words and letters in the mushaf are expressions of the speech of God Almighty, meaning they indicate God's eternal internal speech, but they are not the essence of the attribute of speech. And God knows best.
