Question
Does the employee incur sin for having their salary in a usurious bank? And does one sin if they open an account in a usurious bank?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If the employee is able to transfer their salary to another Islamic bank, they should do so, in order not to assist these banks in corruption. If they are unable to transfer it, they should withdraw their salary as soon as it is deposited. It is not permissible to open an account in a usurious bank except out of necessity, and any profit gained from it is considered a wicked gain. And God knows best.
