Question
Allah, the Almighty, said: {Complete the fast until the night} [Al-Baqarah: 187]. Does this mean that when night falls, one breaks their fast? And what is the evidence for prohibiting a menstruating woman from fasting and reading the Quran?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: Its meaning is that with the end of the day, breaking the fast is permitted; because the limit, which is the night, does not enter into the specified time, which is the day. The community has unanimously agreed on the prohibition of fasting for a menstruating woman and the impermissibility of her reading the Quran; due to the abundance of evidence on this matter, and God knows best.
