The Elderly Woman in Iddah Leaving Her House for Necessity
My mother is 75 years old, and she is in her iddah (waiting period). She has to stay home alone for a long time because my brother is busy with work and may have to stay overnight at work. Is it permissible for my uncles to come and take her to my grandmother's house and bring her back home at 10 PM?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If remaining in her house during the waiting period causes her hardship and temptation, it is permissible for her to move to another house and spend the entire waiting period there, and God knows best.
