The Effect of Madness or Illness on Fasting
What is the ruling for someone who intentionally had sexual relations with his wife during the day of Ramadan and then became ill or insane on the same day?
Answer
Say, and with Allah's success: If a person becomes ill or insane on the same day he had sexual intercourse, he must make up the fast, and the expiation is lifted due to the existence of a valid reason for breaking the fast, and Allah knows best.
