The Earnings of a Disbeliever if He Converts to Islam

Question
If someone converts to Islam but during his period of disbelief his earnings were unlawful and forbidden, is he required to give this money as charity after converting to Islam, or is it permissible for him to keep his earnings after his conversion?
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: If it is not money that has been stolen or usurped from someone, then it is permissible after his conversion to Islam, and God knows best.
