The Divided Intention in Making Up Fasting
She intended to fast as a make-up before sleeping, and conditioned upon herself that if she woke up for Suhoor, she would fast, but she only woke up at the time of Fajr prayer. Is her fasting on that day permissible?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: The intention is the determination to act, and what she said was hesitation, so she did not have the intention. If she wakes up at night and has a pre-dawn meal intending to fast at that time, then she can fast; otherwise, she is not obliged to fast. God knows best.
