An employee from the city of Jerash goes to Amman daily from six thirty in the morning until four thirty in the afternoon, and the distance is fifty-two kilometers each way, with a work schedule of five consecutive days a week. Can he combine the noon and afternoon prayers (Dhuhr and Asr) and shorten them?

Answer

I say, and with God's success: This distance is not considered a legal travel distance for which one can take concessions; therefore, one does not shorten the prayer nor combine them, and God knows best.
