The Difference Between the Rulings of Vows and Redemption
A lady vowed to sacrifice a sheep and distribute it to the needy upon her son's recovery from a recurring headache that lasted for a period of time. When she inquired about the vow, she was told that this is redemption and not a vow. What is the difference between them?

I say, and with God's help: there is no difference between them, and she must slaughter and distribute or distribute the value of the sheep to the poor, and God knows best.
