Our esteemed Sheikh, what is the difference between consensus and the agreement of the schools of thought, if there is a difference?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: In usage, there are synonyms, each of which can be applied to the other, and it is possible that consensus is broader, encompassing the consensus of the companions or the consensus of scholars within the school of thought, and so on. And God knows best.
