The Description of the Prayer of a Traveler Following a Resident
A female traveler intended to pray shortened (Qasr) and prayed the noon prayer in congregation with a resident, finishing her prayer at the end of the second unit (Rak'ah), and she gave the salutation while the imam completed the prayer. Is her prayer valid?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If a traveler follows the resident, he prays four (rak'ahs), and his prayer does not count if he prays two (rak'ahs), and he must repeat the prayer; because it is invalid; because it was not completed properly, and God knows best.
