Question
Is it permissible for a woman to perform I'tikaf in her home? Does this mean that she should not leave her room and should not interrupt her I'tikaf with any worldly matters?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is permissible for a woman to perform i'tikaf in the mosque of her house, which is a place designated for prayer referred to as a mosque. She is not allowed to leave it during i'tikaf except for a necessary need. She can eat and drink, and she should not cease from remembering (God), and she will have the reward, if God wills. And God knows best.
