Question
My mother passed away and left me an amount of money, which is 500 dinars, but she never mentioned it to any of my sisters at all, as if she indicated that it should be a charity upon her death, or for preparing the shroud and condolences. What should I do?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: After paying the expenses for the shroud and burial, two-thirds of what remains belongs to the heirs, and the third can be given as charity, unless the heirs agree to donate it on behalf of their mother; because the heirs have the right to two-thirds of the wealth, and it is their property, and God knows best.
