The Criteria for Paying Zakat for Someone Whose Debts Exceed Their Regular Income
A man has a regular salary, but he has faced trials and debts that last for long periods. Does he deserve to receive zakat to support his wife and children?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: If he does not possess the nisab, which is an amount of 100 grams of gold, then he is considered poor, and it is permissible to give zakat to him, and God knows best.
