The Consideration in Travel Distance for Going or Returning
A person whose residence is in Amman travels to the city of Irbid during holidays and weekends, knowing that the distance is less than eighty-three kilometers. Is the distance counted for combining and shortening prayers for the traveler both ways, or is it considered for one direction only?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The distance of travel is calculated for both going and returning, and this distance is not considered the legal travel distance that allows for concessions, so it is not shortened, and God knows best.
