Question
Consensus is divided into two categories: necessary consensus and well-known consensus. Why did the jurists place the innocence of Lady Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, among the well-known consensus and not among the necessary consensus, even though there is a text from the Quran regarding it?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is considered among the well-known; because it is a consensus that has become famous and widespread. And in any case, this classification is not among the esteemed Hanafi scholars, and God knows best.
