I say, and with God's success: Zakat is not obligatory on a minor; because reaching maturity is a condition for the obligation of zakat, as it is a pure act of worship being one of the pillars of religion, and a minor is not addressed by this obligation, just as the other pillars of religion are not obligatory upon him. It is narrated from Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him: "There is no zakat on the wealth of an orphan."
