I say, and with God's success: only the middle should be taken: which is the highest of the lowest, and the lowest of the highest. It is said: if there are twenty sheep and twenty goats, the middle should be taken, and to know this, one should determine the middle from the goats and sheep, so a sheep equal to half the value of each one should be taken.
