What is the ruling on making sweets on Ashura Day, buying clothes for children, and preparing a feast for the family with part of the sacrifice from Eid al-Adha?

I say, and with God's help: As long as what is done of good deeds is good, it is part of honoring the symbols of God Almighty, and you bring joy to your family, and God knows best.
