The Authenticity of the Hadith about the World Coming as an Old Woman on the Day of Resurrection
On the Day of Resurrection, an old, wicked woman will come laughing at us. Do you know who she is? It is the world, coming in the form of an old, ugly woman. Ibn Abbas said: The world will be brought on the Day of Resurrection in the form of an old, ugly, blue-eyed woman, with protruding teeth and a distorted appearance. She will look over the creatures, and it will be said: Do you recognize this? They will say: We seek refuge in Allah from recognizing this. It will be said: This is the world for which you fought, by which you severed ties of kinship, and by which you envied, hated, and were deceived. Then she will be thrown into Hell, and she will call out: O my Lord, where are my followers and supporters? Allah, the Exalted, will say: Let her followers and supporters follow her.

I say, and with God's help: This hadith is narrated in Shuab Al-Iman 33: 724, and in Al-Zuhd by Ibn Al-Dunya 1: 50, and in Dhamm Al-Dunya 1: 66. This hadith is about virtues and admonitions, and similar to it, weak hadiths are accepted. And God knows best.
