Question
Can we say that the authentication and weakening by Imam Al-Bukhari is a form of ijtihad (juridical reasoning) on his part, and does not negate the ijtihad of others like Abu Hanifa or another similar jurist? Therefore, we find a hadith that is authentic according to Abu Hanifa but not authentic according to Al-Bukhari?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: correction is an ijtihad (jurisprudential effort), and it varies from scholar to scholar, and it is not permissible to deny another's view or to impose my ijtihad on him. And God knows best.
