The Amount of Zakat on Gold and Silver
Gold weighing 1700 grams was worn by its owner only once, and it has been stored and not worn for years. Also, silver weighing 300 grams is stored and not worn. Is there Zakat due on them, and what is the amount?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: They must be zakat; because they exceed the threshold for zakat, and the zakat is (2.5%) of its value or worth, and God knows best.
