The Amount of Qaltain
In the Hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him): 'When the water reaches the amount of two qaltain, it does not carry impurity,' how do we estimate the two qaltain in terms of length, width, and depth?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: This hadith is not acted upon according to our school due to its inconsistency, but we estimate it to be ten cubits by ten cubits, that is: five meters by five meters, and God knows best.
