The Amount of Fidyah for Fasting
What is the fidyah for not fasting in Ramadan due to illness, and if the mufti in our country has set the amount of Zakat al-Fitr at '3500' dinars for each person, should the fidyah for not fasting be set at the same amount?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The Zakat al-Fitr and the expiation are the same thing, so what is prescribed for Zakat al-Fitr is the expiation for each day, and God knows best.
