Question
A person appointed one of the students of religious knowledge to handle two thousand of his zakat money and entrusted him with the matter, saying: 'Act according to your opinion and distribute it to any of the categories of zakat, whether to refugees who do not have enough to eat, or to needy students of religious knowledge; the important thing is to fulfill the zakat obligation.' Is it permissible for him to take this money? And if it is permissible, can he take all of it?
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: It is not permissible for him to take the money or anything from it; because he is an agent, and he is entrusted, and he is not allowed to benefit unless permitted to do so, and God knows best.
